Philippe Giaro
Mr. Giaro received a Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in Geology from McGill University in 1984 (Montreal, Canada) and a Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Geological Sciences from the University of Liege in 2014 (Liege, Belgium). Active in mineral exploration, engineering, financing and business development for the past 35 years, Mr. Giaro has held positions of technical responsibility as well as management and executive positions for project development in Africa, North and South America, Europe and China. From 1984 to 2000, he held various geological and project management positions for junior and major mining companies such as COGEMA (now Orano) and Falconbridge (now Xstrata). Between 2000 and 2005, he worked for a Belgian engineering company, TPF Basse Sambre, in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. His activities included being responsible for the construction of a pyrolysis waste treatment plant in Iceland and participating in the development of the first commercial gold mine in Gabon. In 2008, Mr. Giaro founded Golden Share Mining Corporation and, following the development of several gold projects in Canada, proceeded to merge it with a Chinese mining group. Since 2017, Mr. Giaro has served as Senior Research Officer for the GeMMe (Georesources, Mineral Engineering and Extractive Metallurgy) research group
